When is it Time to change brake pads on S60 2006 Volvo?

Hi everyone. I'm at 66,500 miles on my S60 2006 Volvo sedan. Is it time to change the brake pads? I am hearing a weird grinding noise when I brake. I just had them checked at the 60,000 maintenance.

When the pads get low enough there is a metal plate that is designed to scrap the rotor. It sounds like a million mice screeching and it tells you it's time to change the pads. I would take a wheel off and take a look at the pads and see how thick they are. I don't know what the actual width is for the s60, but you should be able to tell if the pad is too low.
