2000 (US 2001) V70 Issues with Drivers Seat

Post by BusinessConnected »

Hello All,
Unfortunate Search has stopped working so I can't add this query to existing threads, however my Newly purchased V70 has an issue with the Drivers Seat. Basically you can use the Controls for about 30 seconds and then they will cut out completely.

If we remove the Connector from the Seat ECU (The 4 Wire Connector closest to the Door on RHD Car... Not the Main 12V or Switch Pack Connector) and reconnect we can get another 30 seconds or so.

I've changed the Seat ECU & Switch Pack from a Wrecker and they both have the same issue.

Do these Seat Computers need to be programmed or updated from a Dealer to work properly? I Know there is supposed to be a limitation on how long you can make the seat work for in certain modes (i.e. Engine Off, Engine On, Engine On with Door Open ete) however it seems like its stuck in 30 seconds mode all the time...

Any Ideas?

In that case, you may get better results in the correct forum.
This is a Gen 1 section that tops out at 2000...(US, that is).

I have US 2001 P2 v70 T5M and my sister has 2002 XC V70 and we both have the same problem. you have to move the seat right away or you are not going to move it. I was told that I need a new seat module about U$500 and a software download for about U$50. I had do nothing cause I do not want to spend the $$$$. I have heard that Volvo makes it where most of the parts need to go to the dealer to have the software talk to it so the new parts or used will play nice in the new car. I think it is something to suck money out of your pocket.

Good luck.
