Hi all, newbie to the forum here. I've spent a few hours looking for posts on this and didn't find any so here goes..
My car is a 1999 S-80, 2.9 with 127K. It has quirks, but most were solved after I removed the ABS module and had it rebuilt. (still can't clear the brake warning though)
Three weeks ago my passenger side headlight went out. So I replaced the bulb with a new one but it didn't work.
Fast forward to yesterday, I turned into the driveway and right turn signal wouldn't cancel no matter what I did. I finally just turned off the car and hoped the problem away.
But today both headlights are out! Turn signal swith is non-responsive for everything;high beams (which were working a few days ago), and turn signals. The headlight switch on the dash is also non responsive. All fuses look good, but I don't see one labeled for turn signals. I took the switch out, but decided to stop before getting in too deep and post here....
Turn signal switch quit working, now no headlights
So I guess my question is - Could this be a simple turn signal switch or relay replacement? I'd do it, but the fact that the headlight switch is also not working makes me wonder if it's not a bigger issue. I already needlessly replaced the transmission module when the real problem was the ABS module, so I don't want to spend a dime until I have a clearer picture.
Does anyone have a suggestion?

Okay, so I found the solution on another forum...I simply took out the #22 fuse from the fuse block by the drivers side door. Waited a minute then put it back in.
There was also a blown 5 amp fuse for the passenger side headlamp which I replaced.
Now everything is back to normal!
Next thing to tackle is this irritating fuel leak...

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
The wiring diagrams for modern cars need a degree in something or other just to read them. I had come up with three possibles, all in the passenger compartment fuse box: C21 - indicators 20amp; C22 - steering wheel lever modules 5amp; C23 - headlight switch modules 5amp.
Out of curiosity, where was the 5amp fuse you replaced? I can't find a 5amp in the passenger side headlamp circuit.
Bill.
