PCV Hose Connection

Post by parkbro »

I began smelling burning oil inside the cab of my 850 (non-turbo) and finding I had no oil leaks further inspection revealed hose connection on my PCV line had seperated and was filling my engine bay with crank case smoke, thus entering the cabin when heater fan was on. The connection I found separated is the one right below the throttle body. There's a 90 degree hose that comes out of the air intake hose and connects with the PCV line that runs from the PCV trap itself. This is a very difficult location to try and reconnect (push together)these two lines. Has anyone experienced this problem and were you able to push these two lines back together? Any secrets or tips you could share I'd appreciate it. I am only able to line them up and it seals good enough to prevent leak but the one line needs to be push into the ID of the other line to be connected correctly.

This is the gold standard for PCV servicing. I have never had any luck making repairs to the PCV "system". I just replace everything and soldier on.
