01 V70 Turbo - Front Suspension Q's

Post by i-a-m »

my front end seems very loose and makes rattling noise anytime I change lanes. It just got worst in the last 6 months and I dont want it to fall apart on me... What is popular on these and where do I start..? I dont want to waste money these days but want my wagon back to smooth driving.
thanks

More than likely, and a good place to start, is to renew your swaybar endlinks. Known to produce what you are describing and they do go out fairly frequently. Easy to DIY and fairly cheap fix. After that, and more dependent upon total miles on the bits or any bad road abuse they have been subjected to, would be struts, spring seats and possibly upper strut mounts. I just did mine at 180K kms and total costs for just the bits mentioned from FCP was about $350USD.

Cheers,

And a whole tonne of other Euro stuff (Volvo (8), VW (6), MB (1), Audi (3), BMW (2), SAAB (5), Land Rover (4), Porsche (2), Opel (1), MG (1), Mini (2), Sunbeam (1))
