I want to get some good spark plugs and I've heard that the iPd ones break up. Does anyone know of any good places to get some good spark plugs for not too much?
Like these but not so much.

Are you looking for plugs or wires? (picture is of wires).
Stick with Bougicord wires
Stick with Volvo plugs
Our cars are very finicky- the so called performance plugs/wires actually could create less performance. If you want better ignition, buy the ignition coil (replace the Bosch on the inside of the front fender) that IPD sells.

NGK Iridium plugs are outstanding for turbo cars. They are an acceptable replacement for OE plugs. If you plan on doing an ECU upgrade and the like, try the Denso Iridium plug available through IPD. They are more resistent to detonation than the NGK's because they also contain rhodium which inhibits wear under high heat/boost conditions. They also have a very fine center electrode which is the smallest I'm aware of and this creates a much bigger flame kernal for a more complete burn in the combustion process. Like MIJ said try the MSD ignition kit that IPD sells along with their ignition wire set. I believe the wire set is made for them by Magnecor, the best set money can buy.

Not sure if this will help, but........... I replaced the HT leads on my 480 Turbo Auto. The 'Bougie Cords' were 'arcing'. The repalcements were BERU SILCONE jobs. They only lasted about 15k miles, before playing up. I'm now back on Bougie Cords, as Volvo spec'. Not sure about 850s & silicone.
Plugs? Bosch FGR 7DQ+ are an OE replacement. The + states higher heat spec than 'non-+'.

I've been using NGK v-power copper plugs in my vehicles and most friends' vehicles I worked on.
No problems thus far, cheap and widely available at local parts stores.

The only time I would recommend a plat or iridium plug is when they are hard to get to (e.g. traverse Vee engines)

Has anyone tried the PulStar plugs? The cost $15 each on line but claim they pay for themselves in 1/4 to 1/3 of their life, by decreasing fuel consumption, and they also increase power slightly.

I have Bosch Platinum +2 plugs in my 850 n/a for the last 2 and a half years. They've worked pretty well. I also am using IPD's spark plug wires and MSD ignition coil. Highly recommended in the extreme cold we're having in Colorado right now, it starts every time, unlike last year...
Has anyone ever tried the E3 spark plugs with "Diamond Fire Technology". I hear they're supposed to be really good.

The E3 and Halo plugs both work very similar to the stock Volvo plugs
with the 3 electrodes. The PulStar plugs are an entirely new design.
I have heard of some great results with them, but I can't find anyone who
has tried them in a Volvo.
The best of all are the Firestorm plugs if they can ever get them to market. A few people have modified standard plugs to work like a Firestorm plug, but not in a Volvo as far as I know.
