240 1991 Question about using this website

I had some work done on my 91 240 after it wouldn't start and I would like to understand the nature of the work and how to prevent this problem from recurring. The shop's answers didn't help me much. Would it be appropriate to tell you the nature of the problem I had, what work the invoice showed, and the shop's response, then ask you to help me understand this situation? I have no issue with the shop's work, it was fine and solved the problem. But I would like to understand what they did and why.

In other words, is this request appropriate for this forum?
