740 1987 door handle attachment

The front end of my left side back door handle is unattached. 1987 740 GLE. The back end is attached and the door operates. I've removed the door panel and there is no hardware or clip loose in the bottom of the door that would have attached the handle to the exterior of the door. So, I don't know how to re-attach it. Does anyone know what I need and where to get it? Many thanks and Happy New Year. Charles.

Front and back of the handle are held in by screws, one of which comes in at an angle. It is possible the screw has dropped to the bottom of the door and is in one of the drain holes.

34b is the one you're looking for. I've taken my door apart several times trying to fix a broken handle, but I don't recall the size of the bolt.
