Re: door panels on '96 leather wrinkled
I took the door panel off (not recommended for the faint of heart) and found that the top of the leather is held in place by 3 clips on the rear doors and two clips on the front doors. They range from 6 to 12 inches long. The "pinching" occurred in the space between the clips. The heat evidently causes the leather to shrink and draw away from the panel. I heated the leather with a hair dryer and sprayed adhesive to reattach it. The problem comes from peeling back the leather on the non effected area as the glue actually peels back the backing (pressed board). Once I got the backing off the leather I was able to use the adhesive and stretch it back out. It was about a 4 hour job to do all of the doors. Hope this helps someone else.
