Alright, I'm not a stereo guru, but I do know a few things about the 850's system. NEVER purchase car audio products from Best Buy and especially, never let them install anything in your car. For the most part, the car audio guys working at best buy have been pulled off the street and are being paid $8/hr to install stereo components in a [excuse the french] half assed manner. 6 x 9's will fit in your rear hat shelf with no problems whatsoever and it is incredibly easy to take out and install new speakers. You have to do it from the trunk. There are 3, I believe (Maybe 4) bolts holding each of the speakers in and there is a simple electrical connection. It takes no more than 10 minutes at most and you don't have to pull the shelf out at all.

Polk Audio 6 x 9's fit perfectly. No modification required.
