Hello;
I have a 95' 850 Turbo Sedan, 4 weeks ago my check engine and shifter light came on. I took the car to Barrier Volvo and they told me it needs a new transmission for $3500. (parts only). I thought I may have hit the sport/winter button mistakenly so I asked them to reset the light and away I went. This morning the light came back on. I called a shop and they gave me a quote for parts and labor at roughly $2510. Is it worth is? The car has 156,000 and is other wise in excellant shape. Should I get another opinion and can anyone recommend a mechanic in the Puget Sound Region of Washington State?

Do you mean the Stealership?
Check your fluid make sure it is not brown-it needs to be pink!
if you have it done dont pay over 80 bucks!
there are plenty of threads to look for in these forums to do it your self, but you will atleast 12qts (of the proper fluid for auto) to do a good job!
or for a temp fix go to napa and buy some "sea foam" tranny fix $6- put half a can, it will not harm anything, in fact it you will notice it will help!

124 is for the mode selector switch. 222 is for the S2 solenoid. 322 is for incorrect gear ratio, which is a sign of a dying transmission. Flushing the transmission could either extend its life or hasten its demise. It almost seems to be a matter of luck. Some people have problems and others don't.maryjojp wrote:I didn't even think about flushing the tranny, thanks.
Can anyone tell me what these codes are:
124, 222 322?
