problem starting car
problem starting car
the car starts every time that I crank it. It just takes a few seconds of the engine turning over to actually start running. The fuel pump needed to be replaced so I did that and thought that might fix the problem. I have not replaced the starter yet because it has been doing this for a year or more and my impression is that the starter would just go bad and would stop working. if anybody has any thoughts or ideas about this please let me know before I start replacing things that don't need it. thanks is advance.

Hi, there is a fuel pressure regulator that is very common and causes the problem you are describing. It is part number 8658092. I would have it checked and tested, but I would bet that is the problem. It is mounted right at the end of the fuel rail.
PS - The starter is ok. If the car cranks when you turn the key it is doing it's job.
