hi, can a 1991 airflow meter be used as a replacement in a 1990 240?

Yep! Assuming it's the same engine (and not a turbo), from 89-93 the engine electronics were identical.

See if the Bosch numbers match. if they're the same you're ok, if not I'd not do it.
