Weird noise underhood.......

I just had my alignment done and it's probably coincidental,but i have a noise from underneath the hood. Only when i stop at a red light and sit there it's like a low decibal poofing/backfire noise.Weirdest thing I think I've ever heard. I can feel it in the brake pedal, that's how much i notice it. No ses light and car runs normal. It won't happen unless i drive the car though. I start it up and let it sit there and it's normal. NO abs/tracs light. No lights are on in the tree. any ideas? i'm stumped. Pedal pedal doesn't fluctuate while this occurs.

manual or automatic ? Could be something to do with the gearbox when in gear or you have a vacuum leak on the manifold

I just read my post and i'm so sorry. I didn't put any info in to help assist you. It's an automatic 95 850 2.3t. That's a great point about the manifold. i'll check it out tomorrow!
