electric window switch probs '90 240

Post by rainbowwillow63 »

I just realized that the main electric window switch on the drivers armrest is not working at all. The only window that opens is the front pass. side and that is from that switch. None of the other 3 open with any switch.
I checked the fuses which none are blown but if the one window opens than it wouldn't be blown anyway.
Anyone got the answer? I tried searching the site but didn't find anything like this.
Thanks!

On the 700-series cars, it's very common for the switches to become gummed up with oil from your hands, grease, etc. So, it's not uncommon to have to take apart the switch and clean it with some contact cleaner, but if you're able to get to the switch cluster fairly easily, make sure all connections are tight, reseat them just to be sure. If that, and a good cleaning don't help, I'd say that the switch is suspect.
