Hi: First time with query. Battery drained down last week--something to do with interior lights.
Since car was purchased, I have frequently had to open and close rear driver side door extra firmly because interior lights didn't die when car was started. Must be some kind of sensor, but nothing visible like button on older North American cars.
Last week there was some different problem that probably kept lights on with car off/stationary/locked, because battery was nearly dead. After recharging and using car, somehow one interior light came on "by itself?" after I parked for the day. When I tried to shut it off with the rocker switch, it only stayed off for a second and came back on. I have noticed that with driver's door locking switch, the whole array of interior lights stay on for about 20 seconds after locking, but if I use the remote with the key to lock, lights go off instantly.
Have I provided enough clues for someone to offer hints on how to prevent future battery drain?

The door switches are built into the latch assemblies,
along with the door lock motors. You probably have a bad one.
( You're not the first person with this problem...
)
Best price for a dealer part like that will probably be DW.

It's not too tough to change if you're comfortable removing a door panel.

Hey, mine does that too! It's annoying isn't it?!

Here's a visual help of how to go about fixing it. Make sure you see the link to the 2nd page at the bottom...that's the helpful part and it's really hard to see on my computer
In the meantime, if you leave the rocker switch in the '0' position, it should keep your battery from draining again. I have to give my rear door a good firm slam when it is used, and my light will usually go off.
