1995 850 turbo wagon -Engine Hesitation/shaking Topic is solved

Hello,
I just purchased a used volvo turbo wagon from a private party. My wife says that when she drives it for long period of time 25-100 miles and then comes to a stop, the whole car shakes for 1-5 seconds. I looked the wagon over checking and found nothing apparently wrong. The engine dosent have leaks, the sparkplugs look healthy, and break system seems normal. I am wondering if this could be the turbo or engine cpu failure. No oil on the plugs so I assume all 5 cycls are hitting fine. The engine is nice and quiet and the idle is steady under 1000. Transmition shift real smooth. Do you have any idea what could be causing this?

Is it possible the spark wires are overheating and losing performance.............

What model and year is the car? Some of the newer 70 series cars need a software reflash to fix the problem. It could also be a motor mount. The ones that fail most often are the top engine stabilizer mount and the lower passenger side mount.

The 850's upper engine mount is designed to hold the engine in place. Without it, the engine would thrash back and forth in the engine bay and damage nearly everything near it. There are two lower engine mounts that are responsible for the engine's weight, but these are out of scope for this How To section. It's easily spotted at the top of the engine a bit to the driver's side (North American). When it decays, the results can vary from engine vibration felt in the cabin to violent shake and sounds from the engine bay.
