1999 XC70 AWD - Oil Leak

Post by dbernstein »

I had an oil leak and my mechanic told me it was coming from the turbo so he replaced it. After I got it home I noticed a much larger oil leak. I brought it in, he ran it, put it on the lift but could not find the source of the leak without taking out any parts.

Does anyone have any idea where it is coming from to help narrow down the diagnosis?

Why not hold the mechanic's feet to the fire and have him fix your original problem that it sounds like he told you the turbo would take care of and didn't?

Where is the oil leak coming from? If it is coming from where the turbo is, it could be the gasket that connects the turbo drain to the oil pan. IPD sells this gasket.
