Hi, Has anyone had a similar problem as it is driving me mad.
Car is 1998 53000 mile S70 2.5 Auto (B5254S)
When starting from cold the engine will turn over fire straight away tickover very rough for 1-2 seconds and then stall. From then on no amount of turning over will start it. Other days it will start, tickover fine then stall when i select drive. Sometimes there is no problem at all.
The only way i can start it is to pull the fuel pump fuse, turn it over for 20 seconds then drop the fuse back in, where it will fire and run fine. This has been getting progressively worse over the past couple of weeks where its changed from a once in a while to an almost daily occurance.
It's fine when warmed up, restarts straight away and drives fine. I have no fault codes shown when i plug my code reader in and no engine check light comes on.
Any ideas please as it's spoiling a nice solid low mileage car.

It definately sounds like it's related to the fuel pump. Have you tried jumpering the fuel pump relay when this happens? You mentioned pulling the fuse, which might reset a bad relay. Pull out the relay and stick a wire/paperclip between pins 15 and 87. It's relay 103.
