Please can anyone help with a vibration problem i have with my vehicle- it is still under warranty but volvo sa cannot seem to find the fault, and want to replace my vehicle with a lower spec model and further cost implications to myself.

Please see work carried out to date - i must also add that all the rims and tyres have been check/ replaced and is not the cause.

1 270808 - VOLVO REPLACES 1 X DRIVESHAFT - NO CHANGE.
2 241108 - VOLVO REPLACES RF WHEEL BEARING - NO CHANGE.
3 311208 - VOLVO REPLACES STEERING RACK - NO CHANGE.
4 190209 - VOLVO REPLACES LF WHEEL BEARING - NO CHANGE.

AT THIS STAGE MCCARTHY VOLVO SEND VEHICLE TO DONVOL - STELLENBOSCH
THE FOLLOWING WORK IS CARRIED OUT ;

5 REPLACE LF CONTROL ARM - NO CHANGE
6 REPLACE GEARBOX - NO CHANGE
7 REPLACE 1 X DRIVESHAFT - NO CHANGE
8 REPLACE RF WHEEL HUB - NO CHANGE

Swedo car in cape town replaces l/f wheel bearing again?? no change!

AT THIS STAGE VOLVO SA CONSIDERS REPLACING MY VEHICLE AS PART OF THEIR OPTION TO FIRST REPAIR AND AS A LAST RESORT - REPLACE. UNFORTUNATELY THE OPTIONS GIVEN TO ME ARE FINANCIALLY PUNITIVE, REQUIRING ME TO ENTER INTO A NEW FINANCE AGREEMENT AT A HIGHER INTEREST RATE ECT. SURELY I SHOULD NOT BE PENALISED FOR THE INABILITY OF THE MANUFACTURER TO ESTABLISH THE FAULT WITH THEIR PRODUCT.

I HAVE NOTED MY DISSATISFACTION WITH VOLVO SA AND AWAIT A RESPONSE . I WOULD ALSO BE INTERESTED IN ESTABLISHING CONTACT WITH ANY OTHER VOLVO SA OWNERS

It sounds like they replaced all the drivetrain components that might cause the problem. Have they looked at the engine? Sometimes when an engine's manifold pressure goes up (as in acceleration), the increased pressure in the cylinder can cause a misfire if the ignition components are marginal. So I'd ask them to check the spark plugs and coil packs.
