S60, 2004 Loss of power
During acceleration the engine starts to loose power for very short periods of time causing the engine to "buck". It seems that the cause is either the coils or the MAF sensor. Is there a way to check these before replacing them? Thanks

Hello, Is your car turbo or non, auto or manual, low or high mileage? I would think a bad coil would generate a code. Any home test of a MAF sensor I've read involves unpluging it to see if performance smooths out. The complaint there is always rough idling-not your circumstance. Air and fuel delivery should be checked. Filters, yes filters again, should be looked at. Bad gas from a no-name station alone can mess you up. Are you in the city? Kira

It is a turbo, auto and has 78K miles on it. I took it to Volvo and they replaced the fuel pressure sensor. The car has since been trouble free for about 200 miles now. The hesitation occurred sometimes and not others so only time will tell if the sensor was the problem. Thanks for your input, I'm from upstate and the roads are very dusty here so i will check on the filters.

I would try cleaning the MAF sensor before replacing it...but it sounds like the right symptoms for either a dirty or bad unit.
