Ok, just performed SRS module reset -> Light is still on. Although it gets a bit dimmer after a ~10 seconds, but still doesn't vanish completely.

Also checked the wiring underneath the seats -> Nothing abnormal there. At least nothing visible.

And still no OBD-codes, just 1-1-1.

WTF? :?

An outside long shot... but check your alternator voltage. This week two separate alternators (each on a different car) died. Both had unexplicable messages and faults in the process of voltage failure. I'm chalking it up to random failure (at least on my part) though temperature extremes tend to cause electrical "fun" (and we've had highs in the 70's, lows in the teens within a couple of days).

On page 27 of the service manual:

SRS WARNING LIGHT COMES ON, BUT FAULT CODE(S) DO NOT DISPLAY
Conditions For Fault Code
None.
Fault Symptom
SRS warning light comes on, but only fault code 1-1-1 is displayed.
Fault Source
Open or short to ground in circuit between alternator terminal "D+" and crash sensor terminal No. 19. High/low supply voltage. Instrument gauge cluster fault. Open in circuit between crash sensor and instrument gauge cluster.
Corrective Action
1) Disconnect crash sensor connector. Start engine. Check
circuit from alternator terminal "D+" to terminal No. 19 at crash
sensor for an open or short. See Fig. 15. Ensure voltage is greater
than 8 volts. If voltage is less than 8 volts, repair short or open in
circuit. If voltage is greater than 8 volts, go to next step.
2) Start engine and measure voltage at terminal No. 15 of
crash sensor connector. See Fig. 15. If voltage is greater than 9
volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 9 volts, replace SRS
warning light circuit in instrument gauge cluster. If voltage does not
increase to greater than 9 volts after circuit replacement, replace
crash sensor.
3) After repairs and/or component replacement, clear fault
codes and perform SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK to verify repair and recheck
for fault codes.

...and always check the battery FIRST before pulling the alternator :) :)

Thanks guys again for your posts!

I'm afraid I don't have the right tools nor the knowledge to perform such functions. And in addition, those things aren't the best things to do in this weather - almost -20 C and 70 cm snow everywhere and I don't have garage...

I guess the only solution is to take my Volvo into some workshop and dig the wallet.

I'll keep you updated as soon as proplem is solved and yet again, thank you all!

Before you do that, I would, if I were you, try to find a good used module from eBay or junkyard do a swap see what happens. I think I saw one for $20 on eBay a few days back.
