Aftermarket deck install

Post by ironspeed »

I got a aftermarket deck for my 850, and I ran into a few problems. First of all I thought all i would have to do was take out the stock radio and then just slide in my new one. But it doesn't fit right at all. Can i just get a mounting bracket from just any where, and it will work? Or do I have to get a 850 specific bracket?

Also i plan to get a wireing harness, but i was looking at the wiring diagram for the 850 connector : http://au.geocities.com/ozbrick850/Radi ... ctors.html
And i noticed that there are connections for front dash and door speakers individualy amounting to 8 wires just for the front. My new deck only has wires for 2 front speakers and 2 rear speakers. I realize that the rear are hooked together in parallel, but the front are all individual, does the harness fix this problem by hooking them together or do i need to splice them?

You probloby realize that his is the first time i have ever bought a cd player for a car.

Thanx
