radio is asking for code all of a sudden

Post by Morrighan »

The other day, I needed to jumpstart my 960 wagon. It started right up fine, but since, the radio was asking for a code, and now says off. What the heck happened? I bought it used, love it, but do not know the code for the CD and didn't think the radio needed one. Help

You'll have to contact a Volvo service center, and have your VIN code handy. There is an anti-theft device in the radio that becomes active if the radio looses power for more than a couple of seconds.

This is simular to GM's TheftLock system, but unlike TheftLock, I do not think it can be deactivated.
