2000 S80 daytime running lights
2000 S80 daytime running lights
I have a 2000 S80, and I recently replaced the drivers side headlight lens (trying to figure out why the couldn't have made it to where the bumper cover didn't have to come off). Now the drivers side daytime running light looks like it is on high beam. When you turn on the headlights they both are even intensity on low beam. And the high beams are even intensity. Then you turn the lights back to off, and the driver's side is back to extra bright again. Anybody ever run into this? Any ideas?

That's a bit weird, if the running light and the low beam are the same.
Try swapping the bulbs and see if the problem follows.
Didn't check schematics, but I'm guessing the same relays are used for both modes. If that's true, the only thing I could think of there is that the voltage to the relay is a bit too low in daytime running mode, which might implicate the switch. Seems a bit a a stretch though. Does the light intensity vary? Can you hear a buzzing noise near the relay?
Think back on what you did, and recheck anything that got disturbed or moved when you replaced the lens.
