2 tiny problems

Post by Bramdeman »

I've just bought a really nice '98 v70 2.5Turbo automatic and i was wondering if there is supposed to be lighting in the gear selector. When its dark i can't see wich gear i select. I could just open everything up and look for a bulb but if it isn't there anyway i'd rather not.

One more thing, i'm installing a hefty stereo in the car but i can't find a hole to get a thick power cable from the interieur to the battery. I've wired everything to the rear cigerate lighter but it doesn't supply enough power (by far). Any suggestions before i drill a hole in my shiney v70?

Thanks in advance :D

There is a light in the gear shifter console thing. It's probably burnt out; somewhat common issue.

As for the pass through, look down directly in front of the brake master cylinder. There is this funny looking little rubber thing with multiple different length caps on it attached to some plastic wire guard stuff about 2 cm in diameter. You have to cut those caps and pass wire through there. There is also one on the passenger side.
