Windshield wiper pump doesn't work

Post by rscelia »

I have a 2006 S60 and the windshield does not get fluid on it. You don't hear the pump run and yes I have refilled the reservoir. Any ideas? Where is the pump located, is there a fuse to check? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Your owners manual will give you the fuse # and the location, I don't know which one it is offhand. If it isn't the fuse you might try to run the pump and check the right side inner fender area for fluid to be sure the hose that goes to the washers isn't pinched or cut somewhere. The reservoir is located on the right front nose of the car down low. The pump essentially just sticks up into the bottom of the reservoir and and is held in place with a rubber grommet/bushing. It is somewhat difficult to pull out but it will come with a good tug. To access the pump, I'd remove at a minimum the right front wheel and possibly the airguide and/or front bumper cover.
