I have a Volvo XC90 2004. About a week ago I was driving down the road and noticed that the window for the rear drivers side door was down about an inch. I hit the power window button to make it go up and heard a loud POP, and suddenly the window wouldn't move anymore. Now the window continues to slide down when I drive, so I just push it back up when I reach my destination (it moves freely).
Today I took the door panel off, and then removes the foam section where door lock comes out of so I could see into the door frame. Inside I saw one of the wires that comes off the motor, but it was jammed in between two pieces of the door frame. I'm thinking that this should be connected to the window slide and the loud pop I heard was this ripping off the slide. I don't know if this wire has anything to do with the window sliding down though, I kind of doubt it since I heard the pop AFTER I saw the window had fallen down originally (but don't know for sure).
So - that's where I'm at. I guess the first step is that I don't know how to see anything inside the frame of the door besides looking through that hole, so I can't get a good idea of what I'm looking at or looking for. Is there anyway to remove the inside piece of the door frame from the exterior? Or are you just supposed to fix everything through that hole? Does anybody have any sort of service manual pictures or something for fixing the window - perhaps a diagram or pictures of what I should be doing to fix?
Any help is appreciated. I can take pictures or provide any information needed to help resolve this. Thanks in advance!
