Transmission

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Transmission

Post by Joeginator »

Just bought a 2000 S80 T6 and was doing some typical maintenance. As I was pulling out the Trans Dip stick the surrounding plastice and rubber just crumbled.....pieces went into the refill tube. I tried to get all the little pieces out but am just a little fearful that some may have fallen all the way in. My first thought is do a transmission change, but what would I need to do to make sure all little particles are removed? What do you think? Any suggestions would be helpful..... Oh great now my check engine light is on, But the car drives fine.

Thanks

The particles will be trapped by the filter, so you should be OK. I recommend a fluid and filter change anyway, if you haven't done it before.
