Struggling when pulling off

Post by popsy33 »

Ive just brought a v40 t4 and in the last two days on the morning start before work it struggles a little when i first press the accelerator and ive also noticted this when going slow in gear while driving, this problem happens between 1500 and 2000 revs but after that its fine. Does any body have any ideas?

Unfortuately this can range from simple to serious. In many cases the head gasket has failed. This allows a very small amount of rad fluid through. You will not see a significant loss in the recovery bottle for weeks.

Make sure to do a compression gas test or at least a coolant system vacuum or pressure test right away. In these cars once a head gasket leak becomes serious it will easily fracture the block raising a $400 job to a $2500 very quickly.

On the light side it could just be fouled spark plugs or a leaking or dirty injector.

Do the coolant tests immediately so you have time to address this concern with the business or person you purchased it from.
