Brand of Air/Fuel Filter?

Post by nadz »

Hey,
Does the brand of the fuel/air filter matter? Or can I just go out and buy Napa Gold filters?

Its completely up to you....that said however, I always use OEM Mann filters from FCP Groton or IPD, They usually run about $12-15 for the cabin filter, and about $11 each for the fuel and intake air filter. I tend to avoid any parts-store branded stuff, since its usually made in china or god knows where else. At least with OE or OEM, you know where it was made, etc.

I used Bosch for my fuel filter from FCP. They always put out good parts. Air filter I would stick with something quality. Use Mann if you want to stick with stock or K&N for something on the performance side. I've heard mixed reviews on K&N use, but I've had them in every car I've owned and never had a problem. Ran one in my 850 for about 12,000 before I sold the car, and then I just put it in my XC and have put another 13,000 miles on it. Works great.

Always put good brands in your car. like MANN (oil) , BOSCH (fuel) or K&N. (air) .

I recomend to use a K&N on air filter, nearly same price as original, but this one you can clean..put some oil..and you have a new unit for a lot of miles!!!

I buyed my filter 4 years ago...no problems with MAF.....

Go with the OEM or OEM equivalents for parts. K&N are safe in our cars and a lot of members swear by them.
