engine timming on a 1990 740
is it possible to be 180 off engine timming when replacing a timming belt?...it won't start..is the r p m sencor picking up the right signal? any suggestions?...Mike

Nope,
The cam turns at 1/2 spped of the crank. So the crank is in the right spot twice for each revolution of the cams. If you had the crank timing marks and the cam marks correct when you put on the belt then you will be fine inthe cam timing department.
