Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.
My 'Check Engine' light has come on twice now since I had my thermostat replaced. My step bro is a Volvo mech in Westport CT. & he reset it twice, but it has come on again just after a day or so. The car runs great & does not seem to have any noticeable problems. I wonder why it keeps coming on....???
Thanks
He told me if it came on again that he would check out the codes. I forgot to mention that over the winter I rear ended a Ford Taurus straight on. Although my speed was under 15 mph. The weight of my Volvo was enough to total the entire front end.
When I brought the car into the my mech. he told me that several vacuum lines were pinched & a few other sensors needed to be replaced. Basically my step bro told me that the car may never be completely the same, but that I would be able to drive w/o any pre existing problems from the accident. Thank god the original owner kept up on every service check up, even after the warranty expired
I look at it this way, I practically stole this car for what I paid for it. When my Ins. Co. aprraised the damage I was amazed to hear how high they appraised the cars value at. Volvo has ruined me forever, I will probably never be able to buy another make of vehicle again..!
