replacing high side hose of air conditioning

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

obviously after the hose is changed have the system evacuated to get any crap out of it (getting airborne contaminants in it sometimes can be fatal to the system)

How's your evaporator? are you sure it's just the hose that is messed up?

Just get that hose replaced as well as the top, if your a/c system still leaks (after hose replacement, evacuation, and being recharged with R-134A) then your problem is most likely your evaporator. It would also be a good idea to change your cabin air filter if your car has one, these are designed to be replaced every 30-40k or so I believe.
