95 850 GLE (10 Valve) Idling speed about 1400rpm
My 95 850 with 160,000km is idling at around 1400 when in gear it drops down to 1100, cleaned AirControl unit and Intake manifold and small vacum sensor on leading to intake manifold - but to no avail, can someone please give me some hint what to check next......thanks
try checking any vacuum hoses that may have cracks, that will increase air in the plenum and give the MAP sensor a greater presure reading. i replaced all my hoses with flexilbe ones and those plastic ends up cracking with age causeing the higher RPM like you said the cars should idle around 850-900RPM. a good way to check for leaks is get a spray bottle and fill it with detergent(to break the surface tension down) and water, then spray it on the hoses and check for areas that dry out really quick indicating suction. good luck.

TonyMan wrote: Found the cause of the problem - it was a faulty AirFlow Control Motor(valve) - before replacing this motor , I used the plastic or rubber end of a screw driver and tapped the AirFlow Motor this action reduced the high idling speed to 850-900rpm, this shown that the AirFlow Motor was sticky and not working the way it should.
