Air conditioner and acceleration
We just got a 1997 S90 with climate control. I find that even during normal acceleration the A/C seems to shut down. I know that the fan does for sure. What needs to be done? Thanks, Lin

Are you absolutely sure the blower fan motor is shutting off completely? Manually set it to the highest setting the next time you drive to be sure. I suspect your ventilation dampers are redirecting to defrost mode with the loss of engine vacuum under acceleration.

Sounds like a good possibility. I once had a 1983 Mercury with climate control that would default to defrost with heat when vacume failed. That turned out to be a few bad lines and faulty check valve. I would be happy to find it is the same thing here. Tomorrow I will see if the defrost is going on. Thanks
