Fuel pressure 850 GLT96

Post by adrian22 »

Do you know for how long the pressure in the fuel rail(injectors pipe) should last after the car is of? In my car it will last only 2-3 hours, does this mean that I have a leak in the fuel line?I can easy check if i have any pressure at the valve in the right end of the injectors rail. Also do you know where i can buy o-ring for the connection between fuel line and injectors rail? I can not find it on web stores anywhere..
Thanks Adrian

Model and year of the car? I can get you the part number and fuel pressure specs, but they differ from model and year.

So you're testing the fuel pressure without the key in the ignition, right? If so, then yes, fuel pressure will be down some versus right after the car is turned off. I don't think that's out of the norm. My car does the same. The part number on that o-ring you mentioned is 968007. You'll have to get it from the dealer most likely.

Thanks Sean, Yes i do the test after the car is off for 2-3 hours.I have oneother volvo 850 94 nonturbo auto and the pressure is still strong enough to spil gas out the control valve after 3 hours .My 96 GLT does not do that.Question is if a small leak in the fuel rail is something i shuld worry about or not?
ThanksAdrian

Unless you can see or smell gas from outside the car, I wouldn't be worried.
