engine help

i recently bought a 1980 volvo 262 bertone and need some help. The engine in it is not the original 6cyl and i dont know which model is currently in the car... The previous owner says it is a B240 engine, but in my research on the net i have not come across this model number... Where is and identifying number on the engine so i can figure this out. It is a 4cyl engine. Any help would be appreciated.

It can be one of the following....B21F, B23F, or B230F

Just drive your car to any Volvo specialist and have them take a look, they should be able to tell you in a second.

I went to The Volvo Lady in Abbotsford, BC... they rule. All they do is buy, restore, and sell volvos. www.volvolady.com to check them out. They said it is either the b21 or the b23. I am sending my car there for a tune-up on tuesday. Only $75 CDN to have a volvo expert (25 years plus) sweeten up my ride, you gotta love that.
