Hi
I bought my V70 T5 off a used lot almost 2 years ago. It came out of Salvage but it only had 34K mileage and mostly I've been pleased to have so fine a car for 15,500. One of the problems that I haven't fixed and would like to is the front passanger window which doesn't roll down. If I jiggle the switch, sometimes it will go down about an 1" and then back up. Mechanics have suggested that I pop off the door interior and check to see if the window is properly in the track.
The basic pull out clips around the edge of the interior trim come off easy, and the little plastic triangle at the front of the window, but I can't see how the panel will actually come off. The handle section seems solid and it isn't intuitively obvious how to get the panel to fully seperate so I can check the window track. I've pulled off interior trim around the back hatch and mostly after taking out a screw or two, it just takes a good straight pry or yank, but I'd hate to break something on the door panel.
Does anyone know how this panel comes off??
I've got a lot of time on my hands and I'm between jobs so I am trying to do as much of a 60K service myself. The post on the Serpentine belt has given me the courage to try it myself; digital camera in hand..
Thanks for any information on this project anyone can offer, balanceact

Thanks Jot for your link. It helped but I kept getting stuck on the center section of the door panel as mine has a different handle arrangement.
So I spent some quality time with my door panel this Sunday afternoon (don't have a lady friend to spend that quality time with..
). I finally discovered how to get the door handle section to come off. Darn Sweds are so clever that it took me forever to notice that the door handle was two pieces. After I pryed off the top section everything came apart really easily.
Unfortunately, even with the quality time I still didn't figure out why my window won't roll down. It is obviously in the track, (and BTW, thats easy to see by just taking off the bottom interior window molding once the door panel is off. The motor works as I can get the window to go down an inch or so and then back up.
It is evident that someone has messed around with the wiring as there is black tape instead of clean factory finishes in a number of places along the various electrical cables.
The most interesting thing is that both the driver passenger door window switch or the passanger window switch only work pulling up, NOT pushing down. If I jiggle the up position to its second position (automatic up instead of the first position manual up), I can get the passenger window to motor DOWN that inch or so.
My best guess so far is that someone rewired the clip that actually goes into the window motor and got the wires wrong. Tomorrow I'll go spend some quality time with my local Volvo parts dealer and see if he can give me a wiring color coded diagram for the male six wire plug that goes into the female window motor electrical recepticle. Or maybe I need a software upgrade. I hope not. That proprietary software can be a real pain in the rear uh pocket so to speak.
If you or anyone has any further ideas I'd love to hear them.
Thanks balanceact
