...that is what my 3.5 year old son is saying now. Well, we finally made the decision to get a new vehicle for my wife and get rid of the ole 2001 V70 2.4T. It was bitter sweet, but defintely the right decision; the vehicle was an absolute maintenance nightmare and in the back of my mind I was constantly thinking about that darn ETM (original on this car)...why Volvo decided not to be more proactive about fixing that problem still makes me shake my head. But I can honestly say that I learned a lot about cars and how to fix them; I have enjoyed my many hours under the vehicle and shared stories with this community and will certainly miss it. The car had over 147,000 miles and she transported me safely to work every week (500 miles round trip) for the past 3 years...as mentioned before, it was a love/hate relationship.
Take care everybody and best of luck with everybodys' Volvos...maybe one day there will be another Volvo in my driveway.
Volvo bye bye (for now),
Jan
BTW: Almost 10,000 miles with the Toyota Type IV ATF
Volvo is bye bye...

I will keep reading all the posts on here as I have over the past 6 months and maybe there is another V70 (just not 2001 or 2002 models) or V50 in my future, just fell in love with Volvos. The new ride is a 2004 Jetta Wagon with 70,000 miles from my wife and I got her a 2010 Nissan Altima.
Take care and keep fixing...

I will certainly do that...latest factoid I learned for a GE CF34-8E5 (about 14,000 lbs of thrust or 28,000 hp) Engine is that minimum oil quantity for dispatching an Embraer E175 is 4.5quarts, much less than my former 2.4T Volvo engine.

Hello, You couldn't have posted a factoid like that without wanting a response. "Minimum oil quantity for dispatching...", must be from the operation manual of an Embraer E175. My guess is that engine in that airplane consumes 4.5 quarts of oil on take off. Comparing that to the crankcase capacity of your old Volvo tells me you really don't want to leave us. Lonely hours in a cramped cockpit, eating out of vending machines in dark regional airports and being hundreds of miles away from family and friends has made you reluctant to say goodbye. Let us know how good the Volkswagon owner's sites are. Join Mike Karesch's data gathering organization, Trudelta.com. It's well organized. Kira
