Trunk Lock Won't Turn Off
I have had a problem with my 1999 s80 non-turbo ever since I bought it, and after trying many things, I am finally breaking down and making a thread for this. Inside the car right below my temperature controller, there is a button with an orange LED (if you have a Volvo, you're probably familiar with this). Mine won't go out. I have tried to switch to AUX II and pressing the button, holding it, unlocking and locking the car... everything. I can't get it to go out. I even checked the wire that is running along the inside of the trunk lid, and it seems fine. I think that the motor is good because when I unlock the car, I can hear the trunk unlock. Of course, if the cockpit trunk lock won't turn off, the switch won't work. Even the keyfab trunk open doesn't work. What in the world could be causing this trunk lock button to not turn off?! I am pretty sure I have the master key because I have always had to turn off my car and use the key to open the trunk. Also, it fits in the glove box lock just fine. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you have tried doing the procedure shown on page 55 of the following on line manual...?
http://new.volvocars.com/ownersdocs/199 ... 5.htm#pg55
Perhaps the contact(s) in the switch are dirty or ???? Could you pull the switch and open it up to check?

Sure thing. I think that might be my next thing to do. And yes, I did try everything described there to unlock the trunk. First, I have to get a door lock that works and 'reset the security system'. A Volvo mechanic told me that if you want to reset the security system, put the key in the door and twist to the right twice and then to the left twice. Ill keep you posted. Thanks for the help.
