Auto-dimming mirror just died
My auto-dimming mirror seems to have died. It has a small elongated ellipse near the top that is in daytime mode, but the rest of the mirror is in dimmed mode. I know this is an electronic device - is there a simple solution (like a blown fuse), or do I just need to just buy a replacement? Is there any reason I can't replace it with a manual mirror? If so, is there a manual mirror with the same attachment screws?
the rearview mirror has an electronic module, married to your car, that controls the security system and sun roof.
Buy a used mirror and exchange the electronic module from the old mirror to the replacement mirror, otherwise your car won't start

Thanks for the quick reply. I've found a used one on-line for $80. Is the electronic module easy to remove from the old mirror and install in the replacement one? Are there any other pitfalls I should be aware of?
