V40 Cooling fan resistor and relay

Post by RGG »

Hi
Just put another motor in a V40 whose previous motor had overheated and seized.
Going through the usual suspects, have replaced thermostat and cooling temp. sensor. The next 2 things would be radiator
fan resistor and radiator fan relay. Not sure where to find either of these. Any information on location would be greatly appreciated. Also does anyone know about the software update that volvo dealers install as part of the cooling temp. sender replacement.

Thanks,
Bob

You should have 2 cooling fan relays in the engine bay fuse and relay box. I can find no mention of a resistor for the cooling fan nor can I find any mention of a software download for a new engine coolant temp sender.

Bill.
