ABS Module 2003 XC70- Can it be rebuilt/repaired?

Post by vailpass »

Hi All,
My 2003 XC70 has 122k miles, abs light has been on about 6 months, occasionally get a signal that says "brake failure, pull over safely now" even though the brakes are working fine (just no abs).

My mechanic (non-dealership) says I need a new ABS module.

ModuleMasters website says 2003 V70 abs module cannot be rebuilt. That puzzled me.
Helpful person on another site says 03 abs modules don't fail.

So I have a burning abs light, scary 'brake failure" warning occasionally yet can't get my abs module rebuilt?????

Any light you can shed on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

To be honest, I don't think you can repair the ABS computer on the 2003. I also have not heard them go bad either.
