service light stuck on
service light stuck on
my service light is on i had the code checked it was an evap. something or other basically the gas cap wasnt tight. is there any way to turn warning light off without going to shop. car is a 98 v70. thank for helping

Are you talking about the Check Engine Light or the Service Light? If it is the service light you simply need to have a shop or a dealer reset it. Alternatively you can buy a Draper reset tool but they cost around $75.00.

The check engine light will go out on its own if it was what you think it is - the gas cap.

That is not a service light, that is a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, service light says "service engine"!
Anyhow both lights need to be reset with a tool. Any generic code reader can reset your check engine light, a special tool is needed to reset the SERVICE light on a 98

I think you can lightly push trip reset button after putting key in pos. I, then turn to pos II with lights on and wait 15 sec until the service light blinks. then let go and see if it is gone.
