2002 S80 t6 won't start after shuts off warm,must wait hours
After driving,sometimes as little as a 1/4 mile,won't start after shuts off.Must wait hours to start.The car cranks,but won't fire.It did have a EVAP code,but that's it.

Electrical components with windings act like that as they get closer to failure. Check you cam and crank sensors. Try unplugging the MAF andrestarting when this occurs. If you car has only one coil (instead of one on each cylinder) then it is suspect as well.

To Sprag: Are you saying it shuts down after it runs for a 1/4 mile (i.e. probably doesn't even get to 'normal' operating temperature) or it won't start again after you intentionally shut it down? And when you say it won't start, I trust you mean that it turns over fine via the starter but does not catch and run?
The first time it happened after we drove it 1/4 mile to the gas station and after filling up it wouldn't fire,cranks fine but no start.We let it sit for a rew minutes and then it started after a lot of cranking.We drove it 100 miles and shut it off and it wouldn't start again for a couple hours.
