CD CHANGER WIRING LOCATION?

Post by SHADWELLARMY »

Hi, Im new on here after picking up my new car, a 2000 T5 estate. Love the car but its only got the tape head unit. Are these cars wired for a multichanger from the factory and if so then where is the cable and plug to connect one? Thanks in anticipation!

Yep, as far as I know, all of the 850/70 series cars are pre-wired for a changer. At least, I've never seen one that wasn't. When I bought my car, it already had a Kenwood head unit in it, but when I took my factory CD changer out to sell it, I traced the wiring all the way up to right behind where the head unit is. So my guess would be that the factory head unit has a plug for the CD changer.

I agree, you might have to buy an adapter from circuit city depending on the make of cd player you are installing 8)
