Early CD Changer wiring

Post by chrome101 »

Hi all,

Wasn't sure what section to go for as applies to 200, 700, 900 and later cars.

I've come by a factory CD Changer kit for my 240.

Uses a CR 708 radio, CD 401 CD changer control box which fits on lower cubby hole and a 3533022 Volvo CD changer.

I've got most of the wiring sorted:
Changer plugs into CD401 control unit, control unit then plugs into the radio.

Only thing I'm unsure of is two other wire coming from the changer. Look like they should be for power?
A green/black wire ending in a white plunger push fit connector. And a black wire that's just been cut.

Ideas?

Also wondering if anybody knows how the changer would have mounted in the boot or how else it could be mounted?

Cheers

(Here's the two mystery wires, ignore the 8 pin DIN, they go to the CD401 box)

One is clearly a 1/2 of a fuse holder (Power). The other is out of focus but looks like electrical ground which goes under a screw or a bolt that is grounded.

That would make sense. I can pick up an in line fuse tomorrow. Any idea what size to fit? I guess I can then splice it into the tail lights or power ariel. Thanks :)

There should be a clue on the unit.
