I just want to make sure I understand everything. So the tech noticed the temp gauge reading hot, so he ran a diagnostics test and found out that the ECT was faulty so he replaced the termostat housing, t-stat, and ECT sensor. I can see those parts + labor being about $500. You also say that you have better gas mileage now? That would make sense if we were to assume your ECT was faulty as the computer is now getting correct information regarding engine temp so it can match the correct amount of fuel.
