2001 XC70 speedo, message, & temp and stereo panel went dark

2001 XC70 speedo, message, & temp and stereo panel went dark

I can't see them at all in daylight. At night they are dim.
Dealer told me that headlight switch goes bad need to be replaced, yike ($330). It does not make sense. Anyone can help?

try the wreckyard for a used switch and try it.
